“Constructors for Christ” is a group of dedicated Christian volunteers, from several Southern Baptist churches across the South, who come together for a week in the summer to help construct a new Baptist church building. The goal of CFC is to assist a church that would not be able to have a new church building if it were not for the help of volunteers.

CFC was founded by Al Davis in 1976 when he was serving as Director of Missions in the North Georgia area. Since then, CFC has constructed 32 church buildings in Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Kansas, West Virginia, Illinois, New Jersey and Tennessee.

Construction of a new church building usually lasts five weeks beginning the Monday after Father’s Day. Entire families are welcome to participate. Although skilled laborers are an asset, no one is too unskilled to help. Usually the ladies cook in a nearby kitchen and provide three wonderful meals a day.

Rowland Springs Baptist Church has been a part of CFC for fifteen years. We are involved in the fourth week of construction, usually the first week in July. Under the direction of Randy Carlisle, who has served as president and coordinator of CFC for many years, we have been greatly blessed helping others erect church buildings to be used for God’s glory and for growing His kingdom.
