Children's Ministry

The Mission of the Children’s Ministry

“At Rowland Springs Baptist Church we believe that childhood is the “Golden Hour” for reaching individuals with the Gospel. Our entire Children’s Ministry activities have as their goal to teach children about God and His Son Jesus. We do this through activities that are age appropriate, educational, and most importantly, FUN.”

Kid's Zone is our large group meeting area designed especially for Kids. Some of our weekly activities take place in this area, as well as movies and special events on occasion.

Sunday School

Begins each Sunday morning at 9:30 am.
The children learn the Bible through Bible stories, music, games, and crafts.

Children’s Church

For children age 5 through the 3rd grade. They meet during the 11:00 service twice a month.
Children’s Church is held in the Youth Center.
This is a children’s oriented worship time where the children learn Bible stories through the use of videos, music, skits, crafts, and learning games.

Children’s Choir

For children age 5 through the 5th grade. They meet at 5:00 on Sunday Evenings and 6:00 on Wednesday nights when Bible Drill is not in session.

Children’s Bible Drill

For children grades 1 through 6. They meet on Sunday evenings at 5:00 in Kid’s Zone, for a portion of the year.
The children participate in a fun time of games and activities that help them increase their knowledge of the Bible. The children learn how to apply the Bible to their lives.
The Children develop memory skills as they learn the books of the Bible and Scripture verses.
Each Spring the children compete with other children across the state.

Disciple Makers

For children grades 1 through 5. They meet on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 in Kid’s Zone.
Disciple Makers combines high impact Biblical lessons with high energy activities and games to help the children learn about Jesus and His love for them.
The children also learn about ways to serve others, like quarterly trips to Maple Ridge Nursing home to minister to the residents.

Vacation Bible School

For children age 4 through the 6th grade. This is a week packed full of Bible stories, games, crafts, music and fun.
The theme for 2009 is “Boomerang Express, It Comes Back to God.”
The dates for our 2009 VBS are June 22nd through June 26th.

Kid’s Cash

Children of all ages earn “Kids Kash” that they can redeem at the Kids Stuff Store.
Kash is earned by attending Sunday School, Bible Drill, Mission Kids, and by bringing Bibles and memorizing Bible verses.
This is an exciting way to encourage our children as the learn about the message of Jesus.
